Once again this summer, Vera Massey from Boone County Extension is offering her series of home food preservation workshops. The workshops include hands-on training in freezing and drying, pressure canning and water bath canning.
Vera is a real pro and does a great job of these workshops. I attended the series a few years ago, and they gave me the knowledge I needed to confidently preserve food safely. If you’re interested in food preservation and are looking for a place to start, I’d recommend taking all three classes.
The series fills up quickly, so sign up soon. The registration deadline is June 20.
That bears an uncanny resemblance to our basement before the remodel… or is it a canny resemblance?
You decide, America.
For it to be spot-on, there need to be rolled up newspapers stuffed in the cracks for “insulation.”
Any idea who has the cheapest prices on canning jars in this area?
I’ve been trying to figure this out, too. You can occasionally find really good deals on Craigslist. After that, though, I think Westlake has everybody else in town beat by several dollars.
