Until recently the only beekeeping class in Columbia, MO was the January course offered by the Boone Regional Beekeepers. If, like me, you weren’t able to attend on the one day the course was offered, you were out of luck.

Now there’s good news, my friends! Art and Vera Gelder of Walk-About Acres are offering a new series of courses through the Columbia Area Career Center. I have taken a few courses through the Career Center in the past, and I’m happy to see that Art and Vera are now working with them. The classes are actually held out at their farm, not at the Career Center itself.

You can sign up for three individual courses, or you can take all of them (5 total sessions) for the lowered rate of $120. I haven’t signed up yet, but I’m planning to do the 5-session option.

Anyone else planning to take any of the beekeeping classes?

P.S. Be sure to also check out their culinary classes.  I LOVED my knife skills class and can’t wait to take another cooking class. This time the Thai food class is calling my name…

I missed the classes at the career center. I am looking for somewhere else that I can take a beginner’s organic beekeeping class. With spring coming I don’t want to miss it! Thanks.
