Mystical poutine. This really does exist, and you can even find it at Dairy Queen. Fries, cheese curds and gravy. Mmm. Heart attack in a cup.Mystical poutine. This really does exist, and you can even find it at Dairy Queen. Fries, cheese curds and gravy. Mmm. Heart attack in a cup.

Last night we returned from a week away in Canada. My siblings and I were born in Canada to American parents, and grew up there. Some of my immediate family still lives in Ontario, so we held our annual family get-together there at my sister’s house.

The photos above are some of the great foods we enjoyed or observed on our trip. I was really impressed by the large quantities of locally grown Ontario produce in the regular grocery store we shopped at and its huge produce section. Not to mention the extensive city recycling and composting available, to the extent that my friends and family there have almost zero garbage. We are so far behind!

Happy belated Canada Day and Fourth of July!
