We were away for the Fourth of July, but I’m pretty sure our corn met the knee high by the Fourth of July requirement. When I measured on July 8, they were four feet high. The 5″ of rain we got last week gave them a super growth spurt, and they basically doubled in size while we were away.
The most recent excitement is that the corn is beginning to send up its tassels, the male part of the plant. Being a complete newb to corn and not having ever spent time around a corn field, I literally just Googled “parts of a corn plant” to figure out what those things were called and what they were all about. Hooray for tassels and male sex cells!
