Well, we tried the garlic scapes for the first time. And…we loved them!

I cooked them with butter like asparagus, and they ended up tasting like garlicky asparagus. Highly recommended. I expected the tips of the scapes to be the most tender, but they ended up being fibrous and tough. The lower portion of the scape, though, was similar in consistency to asparagus.

Now I wish we could have scapes more than once a year!
